Rumours are starting to circulate that 2 more Hartnell episodes have been recovered. No news yet as to which ones it may involve, but there are currently 44 missing Hartnell episodes with 6 stories having no surviving episodes.

Slightly OT, but I found that there is a box set from Hartnell through to Smith, available on disc for the not inconsiderable sum of £249. I mentioned this to SWMBO, who said, "You'll be watching them on your laptop then"......

Missing eps:

Doctor Who missing episodes - Wikipedia

Most of the missing stuff will have been on film rather than tape. The recoveries in 2013 were all in film cans in a relay station in Nigeria.

Dr. Who was a favorite program on the PBS stations back in the 80's, there may be a beta max copy in some PBS stations archive, or maybe a copy of the actual films for those episodes, I remember watching it when on late night console duty, had I known I would have done some backups.
