My STAB motor died after 7 years of use and i've replaced it with a moteck SG2100A. Everything is nearly ok with the new motor apart from the fact the motor doesn't want move when i initially power up my dreambox 500s! i've set a default fta boot up channel on 13E, so i would expect the motor to return to 13E on bootup, but it don't happen. If i manually select a channel using the remote the motor will turn, i.e a fta channel on 28E. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be? thanks

Are you using USALS or Diseqc?

If using Diseqc1.2 the position settings in the motor won't match the receiver's.

I think you are going to have to go round saving all the positions from scratch, or use USALS/goto X.

I am using diseqc and have manually stored all my wanted satellite positions using the dreambox motor setup. Goto function is disabled. As i say, the problem only occurs upon booting up the box. Using the remote to switch to any of the saved satellite references once the box is up and running works fine. I'm puzzled...Could it be a power thing?

Don't think it's a motor thing, sounds more like a Dreambox problem. I don't have a default channel set, the box simply starts up where it left off. The DM500 is renowned for its lack of oomph in the power output department.

Hi, that's a bad thing, I had the same problem, working on during 1 week and at the end I decided to go back to my other receiver which are working properly with my motor after a strong headache. May be later the technical solution will be found.

With Gemini images, you can set this option if you press menu while viewing a bouquets channel list.

Yes, in fact I utilised this function after finding out about it, it can save embarrassment when starting up the Dreambox in company. ;) :-rofl2
