I am new to these forums and new to satellite technology in general so bear with me please (and move my thread if it's in the wrong place
)
I am a computer person and thought, technology is technology... So I tried adding a channel for my mom as a mother's day 'gift'. In the end the satellite scrambled, started scrolling the picture down the screen, but after fiddling around I was able to get to the factory reset, found the password online, and got it back to an operational state (with color!)
I'm using
=http://www.lyngsat.com/galaxy19.html
To try and add a channel that is on Galaxy 19. Problem is, in my Antenna list, I see some Galaxy antenna's (not sure if im using correct terminology) like Galaxy 3 and 10 or something similar, but no 19. Does this mean I cannot add the channel, or is there a way to get the Galaxy 19 antenna to show up so I can add it?
Also, if anyone has good reading for Newbies on setting the channel frequencies, what LMB is and all that fun stuff, please share I went into this prematurely and really don't know what I'm doing. Thanks!
Also, I found a REX-I upgrade file online, but before I buy an RS232 to usb (or RS232c, does it matter which I get?), I want to know if I need to even worry about upgrading. Thanks!
