Motor failure?

Good morning all.I have just re installed my dish and motor and has been working fine on all selected sats.Yesterday I lost everything the stb moves the dish to the selected sat but will not clear.The lnb and and other output from the motor do seem a little loose and I thinking that some soldered joint have come apart but will drive the motor but when it stops its just not making good contact to recieve a signal.I have tried the stb on a fixed dish (Astra) and I get all the FTA so the stb stilll works.Just to add I can swing the motor via the menu and get a good signal but it wont hold the settings.I know its not a connection problem as I used snap and seal and have tested them.
The motor is a hh90 stab and my stb's im using are TM5400Ci + and a TM 1500ci+

Nothing should be loose and make sure that the center conductor and the outside mesh of the coaxial cable are not in contact with each other. Another thing what 'soldered joint' are you referring too?
 
With the soldered joint I guess inside the motor there must be contacts from the lnb input and output to stb to a small pcb?
 
Try a reset/calibrate of the motor and redo/check both motor F connections. Tie back cabling accordingly to prevent them pulling out.
 
Hi and thanks for the reply.I have done all the above and whilst checking I noticed that were the lnb and output coax go there is a lot of movement.So before I do my hard earned on a replacement im going to dismantle the motor and have a little look inside.Am I correct in thinking that the input/ output on the motor should have no movement.Im thinking possible broken connection between input/output and pcb??
 
Should be a solid connection to the board.
 
Ok ill have a peek later.Ill take pictures and post my findings (best swing the sly dish to hotbird later to keep the wife happy)
 
Ok I have taken the motor apart and the nuts holding the lnb/receiver ports were loose allowing the gear/cog to rub on the little pcb.Looking at it I dont think there is any damage but there was a small build up of corosion on some of the soldered joints which I have now cleaned up and put back together using a silicone to seal the two halves of the housing,so fingers crossed when I stick back up later it will be fine.I have taken pictures of the internals and so ill pop up the pictures later as may be helpfull for someone else
 
A big job refitting the motor ..assuming you have taked the assembly down to check for problems.

If it where me ..Id run a length of coax to the motor and thoroughly test it at ground level before remounting it.
