I am having trouble with my motorised system and the company that installed it many years ago is no longer in business.
I have what is supposed to be a 1m Triax dish (based in Sheffield UK) that says it is at an angle of 55. This feeds from the LNB to a Manhattan H-H mount which is set at an angle of 24.5. The motor then goes back (approx 15-20m) to a Hi Isolation Cable Switch A-B box that can be switched to feed either the Dreambox 7020 S or a 2CI 0 GbSat (as it is quick to come on so is for general use).
I am having problems in that the positions in the motor seem to be changing. It is set for say Astra 2 on position 11 in the motor and works fine from the GbSat. I then use the Dreambox and it is ok until I change satellites and which point it seems to not go back to the correct position. I can sometimes switch to the GbSat and it recalls the correct preset but sometimes the Dreambox really upsets things and sends the motor funny (Astra 2 position when looking at the dish would have been taken to just west of Thor). I then have to use the GbSat and manually set up all the positions again (Goto X function does not seem to work at all).
A few days ago I could not get any picture but the Signal strength read 89% but no Signal quality at all, the motor would not even turn using the receivers. I looked at the connections and all seemed fine and manually pushed the h-h to see if not seized and afterwards the Dreambox (but not the GbSat) could move the motor. All is set up again but there is something really wrong and I would appreciate some help in both confirming that the h-h & dish settings are correct for my location and any ideas on what may be causing my problems.
If the setup needs replacing what would be the best dish/mount combination to use nowadays and would it be better to move to 36V positioning as I believe the speed of movement is faster? Any advice most welcome.
Thankyou in advance.
