Well Hihi

Great forum, been reading for awhile a thought bugger it Motorized here we come :)

So had a nose round and Maplin (dong Grown) where doing a Foxtech Star motor for £40 :)

So bought,

My setup

Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-4000
Sky 1 Dish (dont laugh)
DVB Viewier 4.0

Soooo

We havnet even started to playing around with running yet !

The problem

System was working fine to Free Sat before i started, checked motor on ground and worked fine, left right.

Now up the lader i go plug the coax in and back to PC.

Using Go To USALS, it moved and that was it, now the led that was solid green, now blinks green and nuffin from button on motor.

Now could this be the coax ?? she is RG9 with foil so shouldnt be and worked fine with Sky+ and Free Sat on the PC.

But does the motor pull a load more current ?

It a bit dark now, so tomorw i might through up so coax, but is this a comon problem ??

Cheers

Blue

P.S. Thanks the very nice man at Kwick Fit that give me a 54mm Clamp for FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Hi, check connections to motor, sounds like you may have a duff motor there if not???

Foresight suggests checking the motor on the ground with a short bit of cable before putting it up on the mount.

Have you got the correct connection on the motor going to the receiver ?

interesting :)

Run brand new cable, and the flashing green led starts, take the dish down short cable flashing green !

This worked when i first tested, but now nought

Could it be the sat card and not enough current ??

I believe the minimum spec for running a Diseqc motor is 500mA, how much current can your PC card give?

The thing is it worked first of all !

The card
_http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/site/products/data_hvr4000.html

Says DiSEqC 1.0 supported

1.0 DiSEqC is a switch, not a motor standard.

Tell me about it
and Haudepag say they wont support 1.2 !

So off to a technisat HD2 card :)
