Hello I hope this is the right section my problem is that when I move from right to left across the sky and vise versa I have to continually manually adjust the dish left or right to bring in previously stored and scanned birds.My current set-up is a 1.2 m dish a technomate 6800 super receiver with an inverto black ultra lnb and driven by a 36 volt v box,I can not understand why any previously stored bird needs to be adjusted over and over again and to be honest this is starting to drive me mad and I feel like dumping the whole set-up and any advice on how to resolve this would be great as this has been going on for weeks.
 
What motor is connected to the dish, and have you checked there is no play in the bearings, or worm drive ?
 
Sorry I dont know which motor the dish uses when it comes to the dish setup side iam a novice a satellite installer fitted it for me,I will have to call the installer and ask about the worm drive etc thank for the reply
 
OK, can you (safely) get to the dish and try moving the reflector gently by hand to see if there is any lateral play ?

On a 1.2m you should not be able to move the edge of the reflector left or right much more than a quarter of an inch.

Iam I correct in thinking this is on the v box itself

No the reed sensor will be in the motor.

Couple types of 36v motor, an H-H type and a linear actuator type. The later will have a shaft that moves in a linear motion.

You need to check if there is any play on the mount as mentioned.
 
No reed switch is in the actuator,could be the bolt holding actuator arm is loose,would'nt be the first time ive had that.
In the technomate menu you have it set on diseqc 1.2 and not usals dont you?
 
Might be the reed sensor switch, it reads the revolutions of the magnetic wheel which sits close to it and counts, if you like, the number of revs the wheel does. If the switch is gone then the actuator does not know where it is. It is a very simple job to change them, the one in the super jack just lifts out and the new one slides into the two little holes, it is marked pos and neg so you can't go wrong.
