Rusty, if I can figure out how the hell it works (the manual tells you all about its features, not HOW TO USE IT) I will report back. If I do figure it out, I will probably write a guide (although it will be in layman's terms, I am a total SatNovice).

But if anyone else has tried to write a guide.......?

Think of it as a satellite receiver with a screen.
If you are setting up a dish with it then select the sat you want, then align the dish using the signal meter, if you don't get a signal check the transponder that's selected. Or manually enter one that you know is working. Then once you get a lock scan for channels. And tweak, there is a lot to do and most of it is generic to a motor install so read those guides. You will need to scan for channels on a few sats to make sure you are getting the arc. Also read up on how to set up Usals, the same principle will apply to that meter. Sorry this is just roughly glossing over it. I'm sat on my phone so a bit hard to type. All of us on here can answer any questions you have about it. Once you have a few channels downloaded to that meter it becomes easier. Start with 0.8w first I would. Or if you already have a 28.2 dish scan those channels just to test the meter before you go up the ladder :)

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
BTW: William-1 just posted a new list of strongest transponders on sats across the arc we can see in the UK - might be an idea to programme those (and no others, to avoid possible confusion) into the meter as you will know that they are up to date.

That's always a good first step with any sat finder/meter to establish that the units working correctly first.

You people are gold!

Thanks for the tips, links and support! More feedback once I get stuck in, hopefully by Sunday.

It's very possible the saved sats/transponders might be slightly out of date on there. But just have a look at William's list and make sure you have those transponders saved or are already in the list.
It's a great little meter and will be very helpful with the setup.

Some of us will be on here Sunday, so any questions just ask.

I think the weather is trying to tell me something.... about 25cm of snow is probably enough to put me off playing with a satellite dish today..
