OK, I'm ready to try this out. I'm aiming to be able to use 1W, 5E, 13E, 19E and 28.2 first and foremost.

Would it be possible to use a Triax 4 LNB bracket - for 1W, 5E, 13E and 19E with one LNB in focus ? Which satellite should be in focus ? I'm guessing 5E ? The reason I need one to be in focus is that I need that for the horizontal channels on 28.2E (BBC1-4 etc).

Or should I go for a 2 LNB bracket instead - so I can get 1W+5E, 13E+19E, 10E+16E and 28.2Eetc... Will I get better results you think ?

I'm using a Triax 110 TDA...

Does anyone know of a 4-LNB bracket where one of the LNB's can be in the exact focus point ? The original Triax one doesn't "allow" you to do that.

Anyone ?

I'm still looking for a 4 LNB bracket for my Triax TDA 110. Does anyone know which one will fit my antenna - with one LNB in focus ?

I have found 2 and 3 LNB brackets which you place on your original LNB - but not a 4 LNB which fits...

Yes, I don't think you are going to manage 28E as well with that dish, you'll have to motorise to that one.

The only bracket I can see anywhere is the Triax one. Maybe with a bit of modification an LNB could be placed at the focus?

If I was you I would experiment between having 5E and 13E at the focus and see what works best.

I am currently multifeeding with dish pointing to 13.0E and second LNB to 19.2E and third LNB to 28.2E. I am in Portugal and the dish is a 80cm Gibertini.

I think it should work fine.

Cheers,

Thanks for your replies :)

I guess something like this is probably the best to go for: ebay. 290195891721 or ebay 280189434392

Or with 4 (or 5?) LNBs: ebay 150103003797

All of the above are placed on the current LNB - so that would stay in the exact focus. I guess I will choose one of them - as it seems better than having to modify the Triax one...

I saw one on the satcatcher website, that looked like it would do it. But I am finding it very difficult to find an internet retailer that sells it, as I want one. I too need an LNB at focus for some transponders on 26E.

I think I might have to make one out a bit of bent copper water pipe and some 40mm pipe clips.

These should be usable:
ebay 260201504824

This is for 4 LNBs - the one above is for three - but just to show that it seems to be in focus:
ebay 280190827568

It's probably a lot easier getting this to fit than having to create your own :)

If you want 4 LNB's, you should consider buying a Wavefrontier. With such an antenna, you could actually mount 16+ LNB's and with cascading switches you wouldn't actually need any rotor.

With the brackets you considered, you will have trouble with the more distant LNB's (from the center one). It will work at the end, specially if you tweak a little, but it won't be optimal.

vma: True. I have considered that as well (and still am). Only problem is that I will then need two dishes. But obviously it would be the best solution - as the Wavefrontier easily will work for 1W, 5E, 13E and 19E - and the current 110cm could be used for 28.2E (and with the motor all other sats really).

Why do you need two dishes? The Wavefrontier should be well capable of getting 28.2E to 1W - it actually should cover at least 50º!

As pointed out in my original post - I need a 110 cm dish with a focused LNB to be able to receive Astra 2D (BBC 1-4 etc). I can do that now - but want the best of both worlds - being able to receive my main channels (which are on 1W and 5E and to some extent 13E and 19E) AND 28.2 (including Astra 2D).

If I was only after Astra 2A-B, I even think my Triax would do it with a 5 LNB bracket.

Actually - according to SR-Tronic - this item on eBay should work for my Triax and you should be able to place 4 LNBs on it - with one in focus: Ebay : item 150202671423.
