Moving motorised dish during strong winds

We’re having really strong gusts here in Essex at the moment and I tend to keep my 90cm dish parked whenever it’s like this. But today my Octagon receiver decided to crash and reboot itself and for whatever reason move halfway across the arc to my previous satellite position. No idea why it does this! Anyhow this was during really strong gusts and I could hear the motor churning away. Just wondering whether or not this can cause any damage to the motor?

My similar sized dish survived gusts over 60mph during almost a whole day last Friday and remained perfectly aligned with no untoward effects on receiver or motor. What you describe sounds more like a receiver glitch than anything that is specific to the dish/motor.

Is the Octagon an Enigma 2 based receiver?
If so, you can set the channel, that you want to restart, or reboot, on, by going into the channels selection, and pressing the menu option.
If you don't set one it appears to select one itself.
