When you say 'motorised', what dish and actuator has been installed for you ?
Some work far better that others when it gets cold, which is unlikely in Romford.
The dish was not a new one, it was an existing 80cm one that had been up for 10 years but not connected to anything. It was either the bin or finding a new use, thankfully this forum convinced me not to throw it and motorise it instead. I have to say, it was one of the best decision's I've made - I can't get enough of it now!
The dish itself looks a bit of a state, the back has streaks of green!? but remarkably, its working wonderfully.
The only new bit of equipment I bought was the motor itself, A brand new TM-2300 which I won from a popular auction site for £22.
It was installed for me by a nice bloke from Purplesat who amazed me with his expertise, he was based in Cheshire but was doing a job down my way and popped in one afternoon to set it all up. He did warn me however that the motor bracket in the kit only had one bolt, which he secured in the middle bracket. As I'd already told him I had everything I needed for the job, he didn't have a spare with him but to be honest, it was my fault for not spotting this to begin with. He did say he could always pop in and install another bracket if he was ever in the area but that due to it only being a 78cm dish, I shouldn't panic too much about it - only 1.0m or bigger would be a real concern. Touch wood though, the dish and motor have survived winds up to 50mph here - getting another bolt sorted is on my to do list for early next year though.
I'm managing to pull in 26.0E & 7.0W thanks to his fine tuning so I'm really happy with the job he did.
