Well, I have to say I got the bug and ended up buying a dreambox 7025 with a triax 1.1 dish with 4 lnbs on it. I think the seller had it pointed at 28.2, 19.2 and 13.

I had already bought a motor mount so I would like to use that. How will this work with the multi lnbs? I assume there is no centre lnb. Should I just remove them and get a single holder or can I used it as is. It has a switch with it too.

Thanks.

You could use the motor in combination with the multi LNB bracket. But bear in mind that due to the design of the bracket, you may not be able to get one of the LNBs at the dish focus, so will have a very slighly weaker signal, than you would with just a single LNB.

To wire up the motor (if it is a Diseqc) just wire to the motor first and then to the switch and then to the 4 LNBs.

For a 36V motor, the motor wiring is obviously separate, but your receiver would need to support DiSEqC1.0 to control the switch.

Qucker zapping can be performed if you set the LNBs up so that they are pointing to your favourire sats when the dish is at a chosen position.

Eg when at 19.2E, you could also get 28E 13E and 10E maybe without the dish having to move.

Will the dreambox know when it should move this dish, but leave when an lnb is pointing at a sat?

I can't speak for the Dreambox, but I assume so. On mine,when I set this up, ( I'm using USALS/gotox), I altererd the positions of the offset LNBs to match the focal one.

For example:-

28.2E (Astra2/Eurobird1)--> 19.2E
19.2E leave alone (centre LN:cool:
13E(Hotbird) --> 19.2E

Then each of the three sats would use a different LNB position on the switch, all the other sats would use the switch position you have used for the centre LNB.

For Diseqc 1.2 or 36V operation, it would be necessary to change the stored postons of the offset LNBs.

If it all sounds too complicated and not worth the effort, it may be best to just stick with one LNB for now, 36V motors are much quicker anyway.

I would be more inclined to put a single LNB on the dish, as the Triax mutlifeed holder does not have a central LNB, you will end up with the worst of both worlds.

That is the problem with the Triax bracket.

I made my own, keeping a focal LNB, so I got the best of both worlds.
Pity I now have a Triax though.:-rofl2

Will you notice much of a difference not having an lnb at the focal point?

I'll have a look in the van, I may well have one from when I fitted a couple of the multisat brackets, but not promising, as I may have thrown them away when tidying up. :)

It depends how close to the focus you can get, it shouldn't affect the stronger satellites, but the very weak ones will be affected.

Maybe the guy you bought it off still has it around somewhere.

If I haven't got one, then Alltrade have one at Watford branch and I can order it for you. :)

PS. Just checked, Wizard have them in stock as well, but I'll check for you in the morning anyway. :)

Did you have any luck finding a holder?
