multi lnb

Hi, I have a 60 cm dish fitted with a muti lnb I bought from Amazon. I have a Sky+ box in bedroom, and Sky Q box in Lounge. The Sky+ works fine, with a very good signal. The sky Q box refuses to work, saying there is no signal. What am I doing wrong? Wrong cable? Duff lnb? Any help greatly appreciated

Sky Q uses a different type of LNB (wideband) to Sky+ (universal). The solution is fitting a hybrid LNB that has both wideband and universal outputs. Is the dish an oval Sky dish?

Hi, it' a 60cm zone 2 sky dish, I'm fairly sure it's a hybrid lnb, it has 4 outlets, 2 for the older sky+ boxes, these work fine, the 2 for the Q box are not working with neither the Q box, or the sky+box. I can't remember where I bought the lnb, so have no more info on that.

Are you sure it's not a quad LNB you bought instead? Perhaps Amazon sent the wrong one?

If you connect the Sky+ box to the cables intended for the Q box, go to Settings -> Signal - what is displayed for signal strength and quality? If empty that would indicate an LNB failure or an issue with the cables/connectors.

you're right, did that, nothing for signal strength and quality, duff lnb then, ordered this...4 Way Hybrid Lnb 2 Feeds Wideband 2 Feeds For Sky+Hd & Q All Freesat Pvrs from reputable uk supplier. Thank you for all replies
