Multi-National Channels In Denmark

I have 1.2 meters dish with a decoder (But I am not sure which one)

Hi,

I am trying to create a new thread but dunno where should I create one.

I have a very novice question. I don't know practicaly anything about dishes. But I have bought a dish and a receiver, I live in Denmark (Copenhagen) and I want to see Pakistani, Indian and American channels, I talked with an operator and according to him I need to point my dish in 28.2 or 28.8 Degrees East to get those channels.
But that means I have to put my dish antena on the front side of my apartment which is not allowed. I can put the dish in my balcony but according to the operator I can point between 9 and 13 Degrees from there.

So can anyone list the channels I will get if I point my dish to 9 to 13 Degrees? And is there any way to get Pakistani, Indian and American channels without pointing my dish to 28.2 Degrees???

If you can only see 9 or 13 East, then there isn't much in the way of free to air TV in the English language

You won't be able to see any satellites past about 70 degrees East, as they'll be below the horizon. Use the line tool to check where you can see 28.2 East from.

I think that in Denmark it is possible to get even 75*E with elevation angle +6,57*

Yes you are right, in fact I meant to say West, put East by mistake, as the poster was asking about 97W.
 
I rather suspect the OP found that Satellite by default, rather than having an especial interest in it, and had not at that stage realised you could select others from a drop-down list.
 
There are very few Yank channels as such available - if you are hoping to see NBC, ABC etc forget it as its not possible via satellite in Europe. American tv sells their programming to European channels - so you get the better stuff over here without all the drivel thats only there to pad out the adverts..

The 28.2E slot has the UK-relevant channles on it. Some of these are Pakistani or Indian oriented, but are mostly special-interest channels.

You will not get real american channels in Denmak. Wrong side of the globe - you just can't see the relevant sats.
You might get things like Pentagon TV - but I don't think that's what you're after.
AFAIK, the only US channels are american forces re-broadcasts, and that requires a completely different STB to view.

You probably want to go to Nilesat (7W) or potentially BADR (with a much bigger dish at about 26E).

What are you particularly looking for?

It means that you in dishpointer.com have selected Galaxy 19 at 97 degrees West, and that this satellite is 19 degrees BELOW the horizon from where you are in Brøndby. It is physically impossible to recieve this satellite from where you are (the planet is in the way).
 
Thanks guys, I have actually given up, I called in a technician and he said the same words, "Its not possible" :( So now I am looking for other ways to get Paksitani, Indian and other English language channels.
 
Which channels are you particularly wanting. Be specific - dont say Indian & Pakistani!

I think I know the building blocks that you live in - my wife works not too far away.
If I am correct, then the building is north-south oriented.
Am I correct in assuming that you have a WEST facing balcony?

If you can't put dishes on the east-facing side, then you will have no luck with most Indian/Pakistani channles.
Pointing west you might get some french and spanish channels etc, but not many english language channels.
If you live at the top of the building, you might be able to sneak a dish on the roof with a non-penetrating mount and point it eastwards, and lob a cable over the side of the building, but you are probably breaking all the rules.

It is possible to put the dish *indoors* behind a window on the east-facing side, but you may find that the glass has filtering or deflecting characteristics for microwaves.
And you may have a wife or girlfriend objecting strongly to the presence of the 1.2 meter dish in the bedroom or kitchen.
