Multi receiver advice

Hi, I know I need to buy Dreamboxes to watch more than one channel at a time from a subscribed Sky card at home, but for other TV providers is the Dreambox the way to go? Or should I get receivers with the correct Cams (Viaccess) and a card splitter such as the Clone+ or SmartWi? As there is more than one way, I just wondered which is best. Thanks
