Multi Receiver Signal Loss

Hi, I have just moved into a new block of Apartments (12 in all) That share one 3 LNB Satellite Dish. The 3 LNB dish feeds into a small room that has multiple splitters and amplifiers and so (At least thats what they look like) There are also finally a 3 input/ 1 output splitter that feeds into each apartment separately 1 coaxial cable. I have (at the connection in my apartment) Split the cable with another 4 way splitter feeding to 4 location in my apartment. At the moment i only have 2 boxes hooked up and i have noticed that if one box is in use.. the other box has a very low signal and most channels and vice versa.

I have seen that many people have recommended an in-line booster but i am not sure how and where to connect it. Some have IN & OUT Connection, Some have to Power & To Antenna (That is easy to figure out) also i could not find the best location to install this if it has to be one for each receiver before the splitter in my apartment.. or one before the splitter..

Any help is much appreciated... if i did not make myself clear in any way and you need more info please let me know.. Thanks
 
You cannot use splitters, you need separate feeds into the flat or in the case of a 9 / 13 wire system, a DiSEqC compatible receiver to switch between satellites.

you can't split your signal.

The three way splitter is probably a diseqc switch.

You need more feeds into your property to feed to more rooms.
 
I am using a splitter


Its the 4 Way 5-2400 version. I am using 3 dreambox 500 HD receivers. What i can confirm is found on the roof control room is the following. Satellite dish with 3 LNBs, There are Multiple wires coming from each LNB into the control room. There is a big box silver and red that connect all these wires.. then there are these diseq switches that are being fed 3 inputs (one for each LNB i assume) and one output that is running down to my apartment.. the rest as i said i am distributing signal to each room via the splitter mentioned above.

As said, splitters will not work. You need more feeds from the switch.

Can you offer help on what i have to do please anything i can install in any part of my apartment building ?
 
Ok i have decided to pass a separate cable for each receiver i own.. Now i have just one small question. I have some splitters 4 way ones as i mentioned above.. if i connect the input from the roof into the splitter and only use ONE output on the 4 way splitter will it still cause signal loss just as if all 4 are connected till i get some double sided female connectors to connect all wires.

All interventions add loss eg switches, "splitters", barrel connectors, faceplates, non-standard joints etc.

But attempting to quantify the loss is generally pointless - just "suck it and see".
 
So if there is on output used only on a 4 way splitter will it still be the same quality loss as if all 4 are in use?
