Hi,

I am trying to setup a multi room system for freesat but I am running into issues with usig a one in three out and one in six out splitter as the signal is getting degraded or even lost altogether. I am anticipatping I need to use some sort of booster/boosters to improve the signal but I am not sure how to achieve this and what extra equipment would resolve the issue. I am using a 8 connection LNB with one or two of those feeds connecting to those splitters already mentioned. Can anyone please point me in the right direction on how I can get this working If at all.

Thank you

Roy

Using Splitters is not appropriate as each receiver sends polarisation and band switching signals to the LNB, correlating to the parameters of the channel(s) selected. By inserting a Splitter, conflicts are created.

Thank you for your reply. Well we have the 8 lnb 5 go direct to satellite receivers two are connected to 1 in 2, out splitters connecting to 2 satellite receivers and the last is a 1 in 6 out splitter presently connecting to 4 satellite receivers. Total would be 12?

What make/model are the receivers that are connected to the splitters? If they support SCR a fairly cheap dCSS-422 switch could be used.

The old Sky box could be problematic with a dCSS-422. The Humax boxes should work though. Would need four feeds from the octo LNB. Two legacy outputs & two SCR outputs which can be split are provided from the switch.

So are you suggesting one of these?

Unitron dCSS-422 Two Way Sky Q dSCR and Legacy Switch WITH POWER SUPPLY | eBay

would that also need a multi switch? Sorry but a bit of a novice on this stuff.
Yes that's what I was talking about. Think I paid less than £10 for one on eBay. One with a power supply would be handy. I have an old Humax Freesat box here, I'll check if it works with the dCSS-422 tomorrow. No additional multiswitch would be required if you can get 4 feeds from the LNB to it.

Humax Foxsat HD works with the Unitron dCSS-422 when changed to SCD mode in the hidden menu.

I may have misunderstood but I counted 13 receivers in post #4 :confused

Receivers 6 to 13 would need to be in SCR mode. Receivers connected to the same output of the Unitron will have to use a UB frequency that is different to other receivers on the same output.
