Hello,

I have bought an MVision HD200 Combo receiver, details as here :-

_http://www.m-vision.eu/product_hd200combo.htm

2 questions for your kind assistance! :-

1)
I thought (for some reason) the Conax card slot in it was a multicrypt card slot, but is Conax in fact a specific encryption type in itself?

2)
If 'yes' above, which CAM would any of you recommend I buy for a Viaccess viewing card?
Obviously a Viaccess one of course, but is there a multicrypt CAM which doesn't need any fancy setting up or fiddling around? ie ideally I'd like to buy a CAM catering for many encyption types to cater for other cards I may get in the future.
However, if there isn't a multicrypt CAM which 'just works out the box and will continue to do so' then I'll just buy a Viaccess CAM to match my current viewing card.

Thanks a lot,
Lee

1) its conax only

2) various multicrypt cams about, reality cam is cheap now (under £40), diablo is probably the best supported cam out right now but needs programming with various files using a cas3 + costs around £85.

If you purely just want to use viaccess then just buy a viaccess cam only for around £35.00

Great, thanks very much.

Incidentally, I've contacted Turbosat to find out how to upgrade the receiver software. Just in case anyone here can help me before they reply, here's what I've asked.

Hello,

I believe you are the designated UK service contact for the MVision HD200 Combo satellite receiver.

I have recently bought this receiver and see at the following url an update is available :-
_http://m-vision.eu/forum/index.php?topic=7.0

However, I have no idea how to go about doing the upgrade. The very short USB cable they supply with the unit seems to have a strange USB connection type on one end, meaning that end will neither fit into the receiver's USB socket or my pc's USB socket.
Can you please explain what I am supposed to do regarding this with as much extra detail as possible.

I can also connect the receiver and my pc using an RS232 cable, but then I have no idea how to attempt an upgrade that way either.

So, thanks for your anticipated detailed help.
"

Thanks,
Lee
