Hi guys, I just bought a new Dreambox 500s and I got it set up and everything. My only problem that it's skipping a LOT of channels that I usually get on my older receiver (Humax 5100). They're all free-to-air, no encryption.

The frequencies of the transponders is added and it scans very well but most of the channels don't show up.

I must be making a very silly newbie mistake here. Other than this problem I got everything working great!
I'd really appreciate the help.

Thanks.

Oh, BTW. It's running Gemini 3.7.

Perhaps giving details of the channels you are no longer able to receive would help and the satellite your dish is pointing to, it is probably down to the sensitivity of the 500s but without more specific information I am guessing

The missing channels are plenty, and random I guess. I can't seem to find any pattern here. If it's a problem of the Dreambox sensitivity, how can I fix it?

A tuner is a tuner, the Dreambox tuner is not the best (most sensitive) on the market, but as I said without more definitive information I am guessing, if you want people to help give as much information as you can, which satellite are you pointing at?

I have one dish and two LNBs pointed at Nilesat and Arabsat. Channels that I'm missing include MBC (11938.00 V 27500 3/4), Al Hayat (10892.00 H27500 3/4), Fatafeat (12341.00 V 27500 3/4), and many many others. Those are just at the top of my head. I live in Egypt.

Nevermind. It turned out to be a weak signal problem. I arranged for the technician guy to come reposition my dish to get better reception. Thanks.

Glad you are sorted
