My dish at night

Everyone posts day photos of their dishes so I thought I'd be different. Here's my Inverto MultiConnect System setup in Helsinki, Finland at night. The clear plastic 80cm dish has 6 LNBs looking at 5°E, 9°E, 13°E, 19.2°E (centre), 23.5°E, 28.2°E. Full details are in my original thread.

Thanks for the positive comments. Glad it was worth it. I was lying in bed thinking that would make a nice photo and being too lazy to get dressed in anything warmer I took the photo standing outside in just my boxers in about -3C and a slight breeze...

It's difficult for me to do a direct comparison, but I was getting similar results with a temporary 75cm solid and this 80cm transparent dish. However, I get slightly strange results as part of the dish is partially obscured due to the angle it looks out of the narrow opening of the balcony. The biggest issue I have is those multiconnect LNBs are no where near as good as the Inverto Black Ultra for weak signal reception.

You might be on to something there. If they can sell bright yellow dishes with smiley faces, why not glow in the dark ones??

For multiconect the Inverto Black Ultra it s the best options.Watch the diseq brand,not all perform better on weak signal.If the dish it s obscured by the angle try to relocate the dish.Maybee you have problem with the legislation about installing the dish,but you must find a better place where are clear line of sight.Watch the lenght of coaxial cable.Try to install two dishes if the pixelation it s there when it s cloudy.

Thanks for the ideas. This dish is on the inside wall of a 22nd floor west facing balcony so the angle is very tight. We are not allowed to let anything stick out of the balcony for safety reasons - it gets pretty windy at times. I've used the sun as a guide in the spring and autumn to get the best spot for all satellites during the sun outage period.

Would love to add another dish but it isn't physically possible in the area of my balcony from where I can see the satellites. However, I have managed to find space for a small flat plate Sqish antenna for the stronger signals from 1°W. Cable length isn't an issue as it's about 4m of Webro WF100 from dish to receiver!

Forgot that flat antenna,perform bad. I have the same problem like you about stupid legislation here in the town,go motorised or make one wall mount dish easy to be removed when you don t watch tv.You remove antenna only,paint the mount on the same color like the wall to be hidden from people wiew.
In the night time when you want to watch tv install antenna and enjoy.For start it s hard,but after few days you become expert on dish installing and it s more easy that people think.
In the Middle East for example it s a national sports,installing and removing the dish on day time.

It's been very warm in Helsinki recently and we've had some nice night shining noctilucent clouds over the last few nights so I thought I'd take photo of the rare clouds and the dish together...
