Appologies for not posting sooner, I rarely venture so far down on the forum topic sections lol. Anyway I just thought I'd stick a picture up, it was taken last spring. I decided it was better upside down as it would minimize visual impact and keep the neighbours on side, also benefitting from maybe less ground noise. And it does seem to be very wind tolerent even being Aluminium. The wind is suprisingly strong through the gap in the houses.

drats,

Nice setup, what East/West range have you got, it looks like you might have a restricted range West considering the proximity of the neighbours house and the dish to the wall/fence?

Rgds

I can just get 34.5w - 45e as there is a 6ft fence on the other side of the garden. It was a balancing act really, to get as much as I could and keep everyone happy.

I ve tried mounting my dish, for eutelssat 9e, upside down, but I get very poor signal, as compared to normal dish installation.

Anything, which I might be doing wrong ? Any tricks/tips u wud like to share wid us ?

Very nice that, how on earth could anybody have any ill thoughts ?. I'd be tempted to sneak it out a bit more into the open ... i recon you would get away with it ;).
Re: the wind, in that mounting position the wind would tend to skip over the dish more easily and tend to push it downwards instead of up and away. Tether it down at the back of the dish to a ground anchor point for extra peace of mind. Yep, i like that installation.

Are you predominatly watching C or Ku band with your system ?

Ku band.
9e elevation is very low for my area... and a 9 storey building in front, doesnt help either.
Hence, tried an upside down installation, but signals are not good.

It might be the thermal noise from the dish and surrounding ground that is interfering with signal.
Does reception change day/night ?

Ahh I forgot about that, I never did convince my missus about a cm1.8. Im glad I didnt bother really as the 1.5m does ok for my needs

I wish I had your will power :-doh:), out of interest did you try the dish other way up, curious what arc gained from your position.

I didnt try it the normal way around as it would have had to be too high up to clear the ground at 45e. There was no point trying to get anymore of the arc as a house accross the street was in the way. I didnt want it sticking up over the fence and wall as it will only invite trouble :-doh

Thanks, you would get less arc the other way up, was curious that's all thanks :)
