.....and here it is again - my love hate relationship with my 7000S.

Just sat down to watch Shameless on Chann4l 4 and had it on timer as well (SDT 5.2 in flash with everything on my USB stick) and yeah, there she goes - box goes ****ing loopy and crashes and then starts tripping out on every reboot - nice.

How I never kicked the thing I'll never know - just when you think you've got a nice stable set-up she then shows you who's boss :-DOH!

Suppose it's an excuse to put 5.4 final in my flash now but I really didn't want to be Dreamupping at 20 past 11 on a Tuesday night.

And the purpose of this post - to get it off my chest and make me realise why I love this hobby of ours - cos its ****ing painful sometimes!!!:-rofl2

Cheers for listening and goodnight

PS - I don't know why I've given my 7000S a s_x but from now on respect is being shown to my little box of tricks:p

What do the women in your life call it then? oh and do not forget size is not everything O-Ha :-bash

Wish you luck with the stb ;)

Can you please tell me how you manage to only get ONE crash per month!

Can you do a sticky on how to achieve this.

As I read someone else on this forum say "these are the nicest B**tards I know.

I don't know about you guys, but my 5620 is running without crashes for months and months. It does need the occasional boot, especially when I want to replay recorded stuff from my PC it is always good to reboot before (I found that if I don't reboot a few days the mounting is not on, possibly because I turned off the computer in the meantime)

Some as you TG, fingers crossed... mine hasnt crashed in a while.

i have learned that pressing 10 buttons a second and trying to fly through the menu's too fast.... does make the DB sulk :) since i have stopped this and gone a little slower, its been great.

Yes, my 7020 is working 10/4 No problems whatsoever

But a boot every now and then is good:)

and sometimes I must restart the cam, looks like it gets loaded to the brim and needs a reload to work fine again

That's because you're a Red 'O'-red

Don't try pushing 10 buttons a second
Don't try anything too adventurous
Size isn't everything
Keep your fingers crossed

I can see the makings of a sticky.

Get your minds out of the gutter !

the gemini image in the 500 box works great, its just me that keeps messing about with it that causes the problems.havent had to dream-up for a couple of days,so thats always a good sign.

Same here, still on the gemeni 2_40. Must say I was going to change over to 2_70 after I put it on my mates 5620 the other day. But its been so good the last while, that I just left it be.

Thats when it lulls you into a false sense of security - for some unknown reason, you wake up at 3 in the morning thinking - I know, I'll put the latest version of 'so and so' image on my box - bang, it's got ya!! Your once very stable set-up has vanished :-rofl2

or is it just me that happnes to. Gotta say though SDT 5.4 Final is bloody lovely.
