My Satellite Setup
60 cm dish from Aldi(!)
Humax F2-Green
Multi LNB receiving 13E, 19.2E and 28.2E
FTA only
My Location
Macclesfield
I recently set up a dish on the patio with 3 LNBs as aside. like this one http://www.satellite...1st-set-up.html Although they say you can't, I got 80+ % signal from the weaker channels on Astra 1, 2, Eurobird and Hotbird. I put in a disecq switch and sealed it all up with self amalgamating tape and covered that with heat shrink. I then asked the local satellite man to put it on the wall as it was and aim for Eurobird for the best compromise signal.

Simple???

He bent my LNB arm and took all my carefully sealed up connections to the LNBs off to measure signal strength. I now receive the weaker Hotbird and Eurobird channels at 30-40% signal quality and they disappear when it rains.

The reason for this seems to be that he has pointed it at Astra 1 (now 100%) but with him messing with the LNB arm it may cause further complications. It took him twice as long as it should have if he'd just done as I said, move it from here to there and point it in the right direction.

So I'm not impressed. Before I saw the dish in Aldi about 4 months ago I had no experience with satellite reception, he has X years experience. Why did he make work for himself, we had already agreed a price (£70) so he didn't gain anything?

Not impressed, this is his 'profession. If I sold things that didn't work in the rain I wouldn't last very long. Before, on the patio

He said he'd come back but I'm not holding my breath.

That was a shame then electron, i get 95% average on astra1,2,hotbird and then my others tail off. I'm centred on astra 1.
