Well, most of you will probably laughing because this is not an amazing restoration but one of my first.

After reading Rima, st1, pontiend , etc, I have decided to try a restoration.

I've got a very old polarmount, I have removed all the rust, I painted it with good quality paint (Sikkens), replaced bolt and washers by inox or "an alloy that will not rust" .

During the rust removed, I noticed a sticker with a logo "SAMI" this is an American company.

Sad news, I only have pictures after the restoration, not before.

I don't know if I will use this one day but it's ready to be installed :)

PS: the actuator is not installed, just put here for the pictures.

Nonsense, mr Feedsat_DX.
That is indeed a very nice restoration.
Surface smoothness is really good - and going by the pictures, the things looks like new.
In the current shape proabbly mostly good for PF dish - not enough declination control 8-)
But for a PF - it looks like the basis of a really nice install!
Well done!

Thanks @st1 , yes now the surface is really good but I used a grinder with a deburring disk because it was completely rusted ( I hope this english sentence means something....) :-buttkick
I am angry to do not have pictures of this PF polarmount before the restoration.

Great job my friend, Sami have an excellent reputation in our parts.

Finally I found 2 SMR1224, a couple of months ago , one in Netherlands and the 2nd in Germany.

The first from Germany , when I received it: (SMR1224EL)

The 2nd from Netherlands :

Screw, washers, etc have been replaced or cleaned with high pressure system (sand...)
Before:

After:

A 2nd EL option was built by copying the original items

And the result:

PS: sorry for the pictures linked and not uploaded on the forum.

Excellent bit of work Feedsat. It's like new.

I think, some post have been lost..

There was a post about reinforced the SMR1224 for a 1.80m dish, today I did it for the 2 motors.

Thanks again @Trust1 for the tips

Looks almost new :) nice find there. What dish will you mount to it?

Thanks Chris,
For 1 or 2 Laminas 1800 , the Channel Master 1.80m is too heavy.
