My Satellite Setup
Some SAT-related hardware.
My Location
N-E from Riga
Hi, just added some antennas today. I think with all this I will be able to get all Ku-band signals and as well Terrestrial. All together intend to have at least 32 LNBs, and 1/3 of them quads. Of course multifeeds and cabling should be done before winter.
For C-band I have 150cm antenna in my shed.

Fished out of shed cuz friend of mine gave me holder from another antenna. I have got mine some time ago without any holders. Now I think I will be able to attach that not original holder to dish and maybe install antenna before winter. Possible that antenna needs some painting. Who can give me idea what kind of reflector for Ku band LNB do I need? Do I need it at all?

Hi! That is me again.
While waiting my 150 dish painted, accidentally I got same brand 180cm prime-focus dish. And also fitting for LNBs (made of INOX) arrived. Will go for 150cm and 180cm motorized.

Great stuff - but how can you "accidentally" get a 1.8m dish? :D :D

Sorry, I appear to have missed your original post, love it, that's what you call an array.:) Love the maintenance platform as well.:)

Accidentally opened Classifieds and find out that there is one for sale, cheap enough to get me interested :-worship Wife was angry to see another dish at home.

Looking at the LNB holder on the ground: It looks as if it has been used for mulitple LNBs.
Never seen this on a prime-focus before. Do you know what it was used for?

People use such antennas here not only for C band but also for Ku. So, basically if it is properly motorized it can take all Clarke belt. And if motorized and have 2 LNBs C and Ku, than you get everything. If not motorized than multifeeds are also possible.

Some updates on my SAT stuff: 150cm is almost ready for installing. Freshly pained and all nuts and bolts exchanged to INOX ones. I also ordered C/Ku LNB _http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200534301536&category=149971&_trksid=p5197.c0.m619. For sure that will be my first experience with C band.
For 180cm there is a plan to make aerography by professional painter. Do not ask me why I want that picture painted on the dish, I do not know an answer :-ohcrap

There are still some free input places on dieseqs array. Perhaps I will change DVB-T module in my DM800 for SAT tuner #3.

That was quiet an exercise to install that 150cm antenna alone. But, finally it took place on one of the poles.
Taking in account that I have no experience with C band and motorized (turning) antennas, that will take some time to tune everything up. That is only one thing I wold like to install before snow- 180cm antenna.
Just an update. Have a nice weekend.

Good morning all!
Finally put frame to 180cm primefocus, with this is better to transport antenna from place to place without damaging. I also bought C/Ku LNB Model DMX741U.

Hi! Got my 180cm PF in place. Painting is so nice and fresh, so I will maybe consider to put this antenna inside house on the wall

Like the tank painting on the dish :D

Hope it isn't an invitation for some target practice from a jealous neighbour

What are you getting on C-band?
Nothing yet, and there is not big choice of C band. Will try to receive from 49*E and 90*E.
2 Llew: I did not think about neighbors.... will sort it out next weekend - maybe beer party.

Good evening!
While waiting for arrival of new LNB for C/Ku I was experimenting just on Ku today. Weather was perfect all day and now I see that choice for paint for 150cm antenna was wrong, now sun focuses on LNB and makes it very hot. I think that before spring I should do some sandpaper-work to make surface not so shiny. Tuned 150cm antenna for part of the arc 5*W-53*E and left it on 53*E.
180cm antenna is my favorite by now :) Tuned it today for arc 8*W - 90*E and left on 90*E. That is maximum arc I can get with existing actuator, will look for bigger one like 24" or 36", and as well for positioner. Found one on e-bay _http://www.ebay.com/itm/POWERMAX-V-BOX-X-DiSEqC1-2-Positioner-C-Band-4DTV-VBox-/220740855681?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item33652e2781 Who has experience good/bad with this device, could you let me know before I order it?
