I digged up my next "victim" which is going to be installed. It is "tricky" 19 y.o. 0.98m Prodelin Ku-band Rx/Tx Series 1981 on Az/El mount. Made in USA, so all the nuts&bolts have not metric sizes. Even it is so old, I was the first one who had installed it couple of years ago for short period of time. Why "tricky" ..... because it's working area is 0.978mm X 0.978mm but it is still an offset dish with 16* offset angle. The mount is very solid... when all nuts&bolts are tightened then nothing moves at all. Will probably use original feedhorn to receive some signals.

I have felt the need for another antenna support, so took from garbage (the barn ;) ) couple of pieces of 75mm rusty pipe, cleaned them, joined together, then made a cup with ball-bearing on top. Sorry for not using INOX  Will install 1m Prodelin dish on this holder.

This one is one of the best paints IMHO IMG_20170428_164641 (Large).jpg It is 99% zinc, some call it liquid zinc.
Friend of mine presented it to me while ago. There was just a little paint left in the canister, just enough to to cover my new (made of scrap) antenna-holder. IMG_20170428_164335 (Large).jpg Guess what I am using as a tablemat to paint on ;)

How do you bribe him? Is that what the still is for?
In fact, they have their own still, and besides, they do not drink (well, maybe just a little.... nobody is perfect!). They just a nice couple, friendly and always helpful. For example, he helped me to de-install 4.6m dish from previous location and also helped to install it here.

posting the same thing with a similar, but different view!
Not really.... same site, different view and, most importantly, more dishes ;)

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
PS: with all the "projects" you are into, do you ever actually have time to watch and enjoy any of the sats/channels you can get? :D

OTOH, is it the challenges that the projects present that deliver the enjoyment! :D

Is the sub reflector on the 4.6m CM larger than the whole of 35cm CM?

SUB of 4.6m Andrew dish is ~60cm in diameter, so it is even bigger than Fibo55 :)

I'm afraid I don't understand the question.
What does "watch and enjoy channels" mean?
What ever you want to make of it (like I kinda thought that that's what being interested in sat TV might be about!):-rofl2

I think on this forum we mostly care about seeing a 'lock' icon light up than pretty colours...

Many moons ago, when I had T90 and was eager to play with it, I've ordered custom LNB-holders for it P1200984a (Large).JPG . At that time I was wondering why those holders were so expensive! Now, dish is gone and LNB-holders also. Today, I have decided to replicate the holders and started to understand why they were so expensive - that is because there are so many operations should be done till they are ready! For me, I have decided, this design of holders is the best possible .

Very nice.
But why, if you don't have a T90?
And why would you want a T90, when you have an SMW OA-1600?

...or maybe you know somebody who has a T-90, and needs state-of-the-art LNB holder-arrangement??? :)

This is kind of universal LNB holder, which can be used not only on T90 but also on any other dish (preferably offset) for Ku/C/Ka-band LNB. There are some chaps interested to upgrade their T90s, so they have a chance to get this upgrade.

Love these holders. Care to make a copy for me? :)

I hate the adjustment mechanism on the T90 - it's all plastic, weak and flimsy.
