My SAT-playground

Brought home this gem today. It is made of 4mm (only) glass, has working area of 1825x1135mm and weights only 15.5kg. So, dish is made of quite thin material, there for it has 10 mounting points to the back frame, and no bolts on the face. I've found out that it was mounted upside-down, however it does not really matter as it is seems to be symmetrical vertically. I think in the future NLT next summer it will become my mane dish (instead of SMW1600).
BTW, what is the name (brand ) this dish is? :confused

GTE Spacenet bought a company by the name of Equatorial Communications over 30 years ago, to capitalise on their C band antenna experience. Not sure what became of the company after that.

Also removed and brought home the stand. All nuts&bolts were rusted. Metal pipes need cleaning and painting.

Placed antenna on the table and leveled it. Then did some measurements and also the water-test (WT). WT helped to determine horizontal size of virtual dish. Now I can conclude that an offset angle of this beauty is ~17* (as most VSAT antennas), opening angle ~50* and focal distance 1208mm.
Yes, it needs for some special LNBs to be used, or special feedhorns with illumination angle about 50* (where IBU has ~80*). Will try to install this antenna this year, as it is already making obstacles in the garage  It was need of 31 liters of water to do WT, and I was actually afraid to turn it over on the floor of the garage.

Got this brand new (boxed) positioner last night. Did not really want it, but it was cheap and new, so why not take it. If somebody wish to have it, PM me. If not, I might use it one day myself. And, yes, it has no remote control, it is lost.

I have a remote (and maybe a spare EX box) if you want. Useful for kickstarting seized four wire actuators as they have quite a decent delivery of power.

Oldest daughter was over for BBQ another day. She said to me that TikTok application is is popular among youngsters ATM and made this clip
funny.

No, that is 60cm TravelSAT antenna, Cassagrain design.

Hi,

I have a much more modest playground than you and want to add a new toy to my collection.

I have just acquired a 130cm offset VSAT dish in good condition and want to upgrade it.

Can you PM me as I'd like to get replacement support LNB support arms as the existing ones are in poor shape.

I can send pics and dimensions.

Post some pictures of the front and back, there are a number of different makes of VSAT antenna around 1.2m

Hey folks! Look what I brought home today (just, please, do not tell my better half ).
The main target for me was Andrew (Channel Master) 0,96m antenna IMG_20200613_104728 (Large).webp . It is slightly used, but we all know that after good wash it will look like new again. There is Az/El mount attached IMG_20200613_103450 (Large).webp with possibilities of fine-tuning of azimuth and elevation. No feedarms and LNB-holder, but, anyway I do not use original ones. With this antenna count of my glass Channel Masters comes to number 7 :Y
As a collateral damage, I also got another brand new CM 1m with Az/El mount and feedarms IMG_20200613_103112 (Large).webp . Already have such a dish (my friend st1 has presented to me several years ago). I also got 4x1m Prodelin antennas (one is used and 3 new).
Not bad for June 13th  is not it?
