My SAT-playground

Rearranged little bit my sat-yard: Removed 1,8m PFA and lowered T90. Accidentally, after hanging T90 on another hook, there was maximum signal right away. In this position is not very handy to make LNB's adjustments, but 1,5m PFA has better signals from 30*W and I still hope to try go even down to 45*W.
Probably very soon (within 2 month) my T90 will also be removed and moved to another place, so will leave only 1,5m here only PFA and couple of small dishes to provide neighbor with signals from 36*E-19,2*E-13*E- 5*E.

And this is final product of the day, gonna drink some beer now

As I've said, was not easy to get INOX 12x1,25mm nuts..... They agreed only to sell me box of 50 of them (instead of 12 I need), so, now I have lots of nuts. If somebody have need, I can share. Nuts12.webp

If I got more than enough nuts I can experiment with them. For example make some of them thinner, that will reduce little bit size and weight of all construction. And that all is for my "new baby" - 1,8m aluminum PFA.

Add: And tomorrow I have meeting with man who sells his 1,8m offset Prodelin antenna. Do not have intentions to buy, just window shopping, but who knows if he agrees to give it away for really good price...... o_O

After some bargaining price turned really good, so I took 2 1,8mX1,97m plastic offset Prodelin antennas and as a bonus small but heavy 90cm X 80cm metal antenna. Big ones have integrated heating elements.
Seller helped to load stuff to the trailer. I unloaded everything myself vithout any problems. Fortunately pick-up point was only about 10km from my place and there is very little, not important damage on the way.
P.S. Wife said I am crazy o_OP1270870 (Large).webp P1270873 (Large).webp P1270874 (Large).webp P1270876 (Large).webp P1270877 (Large).webp P1270878 (Large).webp View attachment 56718 P1270882 (Large).webp P1270888 (Large).webp P1270888 (Large).webp P1270890 (Large).webp

Wise woman .................. :-lol
Yes, but I think I am also mannaging to do all "honey-does " at home, and I did not bring home today another aluminum PFA (approximately 1,5m in diameter), which I was offered. So, I see nothing wrong with all my hobby-stuff. :-rofl2

Spent some time today installing one of the Prodelins. Removed heater, I do not think I will need it, and moreover it is 120 Volts. Changed some nuts and bolts to INOX. And, of course, gave a little hand-wash.

Today was good day: started to catch signals with Prodelin. First lock on Astra 28,2*E. However, level of signal is same as my 1,5m PFA is giving, but that, I think because of making everything temporary (cable from 3 pieces, LNB holder. I think I need more precise tweaking as well. Need to spent more time on Prodelin. Protractor (Custom).webp Sure_lock (Custom).webp scales (Custom).webp whole (Custom).webp

All weekend out of SAT-business, just added more stones to make system more stable and also to clear yard from stones laying around. I think 800 kilos is more than enough for this antenna.

For a longtime I was asking my friends to do welding for SAT-hardware, now, after getting this machine will do job myself (OK, after taking some lessons ) weldingMachine.webp

From one Arc to another .........

Hey, look what I've got today: Heavy metal, but more importantly- original Prodelin feedhorn. LNBs have very narrow frequency range, so, most likely useless nowadays. Some still in the unopened boxes from 2006.
