Nabilo Black Hole Fan Control. HDD Not Recording.

My Satellite Setup
Master Focus 90cm .Gigablue UHD Quad 4K on TM 2600 motor. *Tm 5402 HD M3, *Atemio Nemesis. *Not Used.

I installed the Nabilo Black Hole Fan Control Plugin. Works a treat and I don't notice the fan running at all until I put the box on standby. The fan keeps going on standby but when I open the fan control setup it has some settings but I really cant figure them out. Pressing the red button seems to reset the speed slower but it returns at the original. Any clues please. :)
Hard Disc Drive will not record. Comes up with the Enigma Sorry page and thats it. Is it best to reinstall the Enigma from flash to see if that sorts the problem. It was OK before I installed Nabilo Black Hole but it may be another setting.
PS. The dish moves a treat but with slightly different settings than I have seen here and there.
 
Can't help with the plugin mate sorry, I don't use it. As for the HDD , I would try reinitialising it before I flashed again.
 
Thanks B16MCC. I will try reinitialising the HDD. To may tweaks on this box for me to mess up. But thats how I learn, the hard way. I installed a fan because it has the mounting plate ready and its a better be safe situation. Its all cool just now as its on top of the cabinet but no doubt it will be moved under orders to a shelf.
 
My 8000 is fully loaded mate, it has all four tuners installed, a HDD a DVD rw , CF and SD cards. I have no heat trouble at all, it runs very cool indeed, a lot cooler than my 800 and that has nothing installed. I really don't think its an issue with the 8000, although I understand installing a fan is sensible.
 
A fan is only a few quid and its alot of box to overheat. I'm a belt and braces man, my neighbour thinks I'm soft when I tie the ladder to the chimney when painting it in Sandtex. But he has never fallen off a ladder.
 
I reinstalled the Enigma but no difference. I will disconnect the HDD and try that otherwise I will have to re install Nabilo Black Hole but will remove the fan plug in first to see if its that.
 
Sure is a strange problem.
Do you get any on screen messages at all when a recording starts ?
Did you initialise the drive in the 8000 when you first installed it ?
Could it be a tuner availability issue , what do you have installed / connected ?
 
Message comes up like, Unable to start.... then repeats itself several times before restarting Enigma 2. I did reinstall Enigma 2 but no better, so I did a factory reset. Then I put in the sat position numbers in the tuner setup, lucky I wrote them down and its all OK. Records fine and is now scanning the sats on automatic. Now I will try and get a few extra channels if I can figure out the cam. Its a steep learning curve and I must admit my brain has not worked so hard for years.
 
lol yeah it is. Stick with it mate you're doing well. The best part about all of it is the sense of achievment when it works !
 
Thanks B16MCC. Just reading your blog about CCcam, I will be having a go later, looks fairly straightforward. Got a ceiling to paint first or no dinner later.
