Hi,

Not sure which section this would go in, but...

Until I decide what to do re:getting NASA TV in the UK, I would like to find any channel that might be showing some of the live footage, either on 19.2E and 13E (which I have on my monoblock). Manually going through each channel would take forever, so I wondered if there was some kind of software that would help. On my SL65 (Lidl special) there is a function which will scan channels and produce a thumbnail for each channel. This would do the trick but it only does 6 channels at one go. I have a Dreambox 7020 and a Skystar 2. Is there anything that would scan through all the channels and produce a thumbnail of what is on that channel at that time, and then allow me to scroll through them?

TIA

As you have a Sky box listed in your profile just go to Sky news active. - NASA is being taken on one of the multi news screens.

Hi,

Thanks. Already doing that, but I'd like to see if it's available without the Sky graphics all over the place, and on for longer.

Anyone seen any method/software capable of doing the thumbnails?

:)

You cant - its not carried in Europe unless theres a big mission on. The only way is to watch it on the web.

NASA TV is carried by Satellite = AMC 6
Transponder = 17C
72 Degrees West

So there is NO way someone in central europe can get a transmission from a satellite so far west as it would be very low on the horizon?

thanks for the explanation. I wonder why NASA does not 'relay' in some way its transmissions onto a European / Asian satellite.

Simply because NASA's educational remit does not extend outside the USA. Theres nothing stopping a European channel taking NASA in their downtime but no-one does:mad:

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

NASA TV can be obtained for free - the dreadful Friendly TV in the UK took it for a few weeks about 3-4 years ago so no costs involved for the tv channel

I can give you two bits of advise

1. watch Nasa TV over the Web.

2. vist the European Space Agency they rebroadcast or broadcast live footage of the missions when there's a live docking or undocking on the ISS or a launch. Pluss each week they show the ISS astolab highlights.

There's a channel on 13 E called EBS (Europe by Satellite) they show 15 min footage put together by ESA about various missions. The Nasa TV/ISS stuff is normally show on Eutelsat W2 at 16 degrees east or Atlantic Bird 1 at 12.5 degrees west

Hope that's of some help to you.

Tonight you could watch the Launch of Badr-4 if you were pointing at NSS7 22 degrees west

Look at this thread, there is a link to a web tv page and NASA TV is watchable from the list there for free. :)
