I have two teenagers at home who each have a sky box in their room. I would love to have a "control panel" in the living room that enabled me to switch their sky signal on and off dependent on their behaviour ;)

I have spent the last two hours looking for a solution online and can only come up with an A/B switch (although there is a suggestion this won't necessarily work) although the issues may be resolved by using a High Isolation A/B switch.

Has anyone done this? What would you recommend?

I haven't yet come across an A/B switch that isn't "Hi-Isolation"!

I have several around the house and they are ideal for clunky, loss-free switching.

Even SWMBO has no problem driving one .......................

Thank you Tivù, where would you suggest I buy them from? Can you post a link?

I have got them from various places, based on price - It's often cheaper to buy two or three at once as they are not featherweight so p&p charges need to be considered.

Look at Forum Sponsors, eBay etc. (eg Item # 190351592624)

(Example given to alleviate any ambiguity about what we're referring to)

Anyway, before you buy, maybe you could describe in more detail how you think these might be applied for your purpose, so we can point out any possible flaws.

Run the cable feed down to a suitable place and put an A/B switch on. Connect side A to the bedroom receiver.

Keep it on A unless the kids have turned into evil munchkins, and when that happen clonk it over to B and away all the channels go :D

Current legislation means you are entitled to beat offspring as long as it doesn't leave a mark. Somewhat cheaper than running cables.

just apply the parental lock to all channels,
but stopping kids watching tv has never been my punishment for bad behavior :).

Cat o' nine tails is the way to go lol
