Need advise,new setup

Hi guys,

I am based in UK, I currently have sky which I am planning to keep.

I want to receive some asian sport channels such as Ten Sports and Star Cricket as well as some saturday football.

I have done a bit research and am lead to believe that for the asian sports channels, I should be able to connect to Intelsat 12 at 45.0°E. Has anybody from Europe connected to this satellite? Does anyone know what dish size I would need?

Also how reliable is lyngsat site in terms of getting a list of channels from a satellite?

Lyngsat is pretty reliable ............. but in any case of doubt, you can always look at flysat or kingofsat as well.
 
As regards Ten Sports and Star Cricket ............. check Lyngsat again!

They are on 45E, yes, but on a beam destined for India.

You have no chance of getting it in the UK.

None.


Hint: Click on "Beam", second column from the right.
 
Yup the Indian channels you want are firing into India on a spotbeam. And as my esteemed buddy Tivu says you have no chance whatsoever of getting them in Europe.

If you want to watch them either move to India or find someone who will slingbox them to you (needs a decent broadband connection at both ends).
 
Alternatively for other asian sports programming try 13e & 26e.
 
Thanks for the quick response guys, appreciated. According to satbeams, _http://satbeams.com/footprints?beam=5360 intelsat 12, There is a European beam which covers Europe. A bit confusing really.
 
Yes, there is indeed a European Beam ................ but the Channels/Packages you want aren't on it!
