Hi guys going start installing my cm dish on Monday need bit of help would it be ok to use alarm cable for the 36v 12inch jack motor and wen ive wired motor up wot setting do i put my tm-5402hd box at do i set it at 1.2
and ive payed for a TECHNOMATE TM-SUPER BOX III DiSEqC POSITIONER

Yes, you need DiSEqC 1.2 on the receiver feeding the Vbox to move the motor.

If you can't get the correct 4 core motor cable, maybe speaker cable or 4 core mains will be up to the job. I've seen cat5e doubled up but certainly wouldn't recommend it... ;)

4 core mains cable is ok to use, I bought mine from sat superstore a little pricey though.

on my vantage receiver it has a positioner mode but diseqc 1.2 works as well.

do i nudge the dish from tv box or the tm-sat-pos

Save satellite positions on the receiver, it'll save to a POS number on the Vbox. When you recall a satellite, the Vbox supplies power to the motor until the number of counts previously stored have been reached for each satellite.

Being a tight wad I used doubled up CAT5 cable and I guess the only issue could be one of the cores snapping on the motor or controller connectors when you are installing it. Now it's in with suitable strain relief it's fine. Is alarm cable multicore, ISTR it is so should be fine. I'm using mine stand alone as I've read a number of threads that mention 2/3% through loss when it's inline with the coax. A lot of the signals I'm trying for are that kind of quality to begin with lol

Thanks for info m8 i have big roll of Alarm wire going try it anyway see if any good lol

The easiest way would be move the dish where you want it using the V-box remote and then once you have nailed the satellite save it using the receiver.

Got ya m8 do i set sat box at 1.2 in motorised settings

yes choose diseqc 1.2 and move the dish east/west and once found the satellites just save the position on the receiver which will save it on the vbox as well.
