Howdy!

Got a new 1.8m Raven dish coming next month and It needs a nice new shiney receiver.

I have two Technomate 5402HD's and a Dr HD box, and some cheaper bog standard Skybox's but I'm not sure what to buy, anything new out that beats those two boxes? Getting 4:2:2 feeds would be a huge bonus.

Cheers,
Aaron

Anything that allows video streaming off its lan port can be used to decode 4:2:2. (Using VLC on a computer)

Ive done it with both my ancient old DB 7020 & my Vu+Duo

With the Vu+Duo can you then stream two separate feeds from its tuners at once on the PC?

I've got GB Quad Plus couple of weeks ago. It has 3 Sat-tuners and 1-DVB-T, can stream up to 3 different channels via network while watching one on TV. It is actually possible to stream even 7-8 channels simultaneously. BTW, no need to buy new and shiny receiver to get nice picture on TV and also stream some. Good old DM 8000 can accomplish same tasks without any difficulties.

There is rumered to be some H265 4:2:2 compliant receivers being released in the spring of 2015

The GigaBlue HD Quad Plus looks nice, is that a mini display on the front? Neato.

I guess as long as it streams to VLC, can get PC codecs for H265, 4:2:2 etc for now until a dedicated receiver comes out that reduces a point of failure by having to stream to another device.

Yes, front-panel display can show different kind of information, including duplication of TV channel (like a small TV screen).
