A promo for a job application.

I've told them they need something like an ftp uploading site but that's all I'm going to suggest since I know if it's to run off something from their laptop then they need a static IP address plus specific firewall protocol.

Can anyone here recommend a good - read free - file hosting site that allows either ftp protocol, or at least something similar where the prospective employer can be given a password to access the stuff.

They did use dropbox a couple of years back but didn't get on. FileZilla is advertised heavily but I have no experience of this.

Total capacity of their wares is under 10GB, about twenty short videos and a few images of the finished product(s).

Thanks

Have another look at dropbox - its exceedingly easy to use now.

If you have a google / gmail account then google drive is a possibility

Dont use rapidshare - they cease operations in a few weeks time.

Frankly if they're not comfortable with Dropbox or Google Drive (and I'll bet MS Sky Drive either) then it is they who have the problem.

I would urge them to reconsider Dropbox. It really does seem to be reasonably simple to my mind and you can hand out invitations for restricted areas of your private account.

Dropbox all day long, I have all my devices, my wife's devices and my work all linked with dropbox.
It is idiot proof to be honest.

Box, Copy, Mediafire, Mega, Onedrive (was skydrive), Yandex Disk? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_online_backup_services

Why not upload videos to youtube and keep them private but share the address to clients?
Is this a one time offer to a client or permanent solution?

Burn dvds and use snail mail?

http://www.noip.com/ still offers a limited free service if they want to run an FTP service but surely this is more complex than dropbox?? Also keep in mind unless they are on fibre the FTP client downloading from them will find it very slow (due to the limited upload).
