I just can't get DB500 onto the internet.
I'm running Win.XP on two computers with a router.
Ip's are router-192.168.7.1 the other two pc's 192.168.7.2and3.
I've just realised that network setting were not installed so I've installed Network services and Network file and printers on both.
Now this is where I come adrift!
The 500 has an ethernet connector.
1) Can I connect direct to the router? I believe I need a Cat5 'straight' cable and use broadband or
2) Do I connect to the ethernet on the back of either pc and use modem (as a result broadband is disconnected) with Cat5e crossover cable.
Communication setup DB:
IP 192.168.7.24 (no DHCP)
Netmask 255.255.255.0 - Type LAN - Nameserver 192.168.7.1 - Gateway 192.168.7.1 -
Enable network (ticked) - Port 80
Mounts Manager
10.0.0.97 NFS
Is it necessary to Telnet192.168.7.24 to make initial contact with server?
( a nice little chart with all variations would help immensely for us newbies!)
