hi,

I have a dreabox 7020 and running the gemini image. been trying to ftp a ts. file from my dreambox through the lan to my laptop. I have found that this is very slow indeed, average about 40kb/s,. I have all firewalls turned off and have the network fix option in the setup menu enabled, but still running very slow.

I have read the following thread in another forum.. http://www.sat-industry.net/forums/showthread.php?t=27234 and it seems a bit of a drastic measure as I am not good with a soldering iron.

Not sure if i have a setup problem or maybe its the image?

So i was wondering if anyone else has or had this problem and what transfer rates you are getting??

cheers

I'm getting almost 4000kb download speed on my 7020 (I didn't make any software or hardware changes).

its a known problem im afraid guys, so apart from sending it back to dream, its out with the soldering iron l

I'm pretty happy with the transfer rate on my 7020, as I wrote above. Is 3500-4000 kb/sec not fast enough?

the max you can get is 100Mb/sec, so 100,000 kb/sec . so 40-50% of this is a reasonable value to expect. i personally get ca 40 Mb/sec with my DM7000

hi,

4000 kb/s is fast enough for sure but 50-100 is not as i am getting. :(

Think I will keep the soldering iron at bay and trade in the 7020 for a 7025...the twin tuner would be nice and this would solve my network problem i hope..

The 7025 should fix it, but remember that U will be a beta tester

Not too many img ready but they will come and so will the bugs:)

hi,

changed my mind on this and decided to give the soldering job a go. increased my network speed speed to 3500-4000kbs. So anyone with the old type capacitors in their box and are feeling confident consider trying it as the download/upload speeds are now how they should be.:)

good one.

How old is your Dreambox?

I bought one last weekend and my networks speed seems fine.

I get asymmetrical speeds ftp'ing to the dreambox. Downloading from dreambox to PC is very fast, Im limited as I only have a 10M LAN but I get speeds approaching 800-900kB/sec but uploading I only get 40k/sec, is this normal?

I have a 7020, serial number 5Bxxxxxxx.

Had to make a difficult choice between a 7020S and a Relook 400S and went for the latter (Had used the 7020S when it was first released and did not want to take these risks again :) - Am not so happy with Dream's expensive and half baked products 'O'-red ).
