My Satellite Setup
Master Focus 90cm .Gigablue UHD Quad 4K on TM 2600 motor. *Tm 5402 HD M3, *Atemio Nemesis. *Not Used.
My Location
Southern England
It will soon be new satellite box time, just waiting to see what's new that's coming. I am pondering on a couple of things. I like closed source receivers Technomate have always been ok with me but there may be something better for my needs.
1st. I want to stream over the home network and I am not sure if closed source receivers do it without complications.
2nd. Internal or external HDD.
 
Meet in the middle with a Technomate Linux receiver?? Streaming video is easy via Vu+ player app on an Android phone or tablet.

Thanks. I will wait a few weeks to see if TM are bringing out a new model.

Thanks but I am sure William will let us know when it arrives. I suspect he has one already and is writing a comprehensive review whilst eating his Nutty Crunch at breakfast.

Still no new receivers and its almost Christmas. I may miss out and have to buy one myself or wait until my birthday.

Nothing has materialised atm I will make contact at the end of the week for a progress report.
 
A good new Technomate would be something along the lines of a TM-5502 with NDF/CNDF file format channel lists and the capability to do 4:2:2 feeds plus an internal 36 volt positioner. That would suit me nicely.
 
Their main aim is for ACM/VCM Multi-Sreaming on 5 west ect with a possibility of 4:2:2 but nothing is certain atm as the Korean's were still working on the software.
 
I can't see 4.2.2 coming, but I hope TM prove me wrong. The developers at Amiko had it sort of working on the A3, but as there is really not much demand they never developed it further.
 
The Vu+ to watch TV and either normal channels, to "fish" are not worth, not recommended.

The VU+DUO2, 2 satellite tuner/4Sat tuner, and USB A single or dual tuner Freeview, perfect for normal satellite, streaming normal and reduced (transcoding), ability to view two channels, one for TV and one via tablet / mobile phone or PC, both within and outside your network if you have good climb LAN, 3TB HDD 3'5 "/2'5" internal, 4 tuner, you can watch / record 4 tp's distintintos (according antennas, different band/polarity).

Without forgetting that the VU + SR have problems with less than 2000.
Satellite last fish, if I use the DB800S-HD to fish and then post this list on the Vu + DUO2, open channels to SR1500, if I wait 30 seconds SR1200 good, but nothing lower, SR1100 nothing.
In the VU + DUO2 after performing a blind search (single tuner A), restart enigma2 to recover the tuner module to be locked, after working well.

Los Vu+ para ver la TV y canales normales bien, para "pescar" no valen, no lo recomiendo.

El VU+DUO2, 2 tuner sat/4 tuner Sat, y por USB un tuner TDT sencillo o doble, perfecto para ver satelites normales, streaming normal y reducido (transcodificacion), posibilidad de ver 2 canales, uno en la TV y otro via tablet/telefono movil o PC, tanto dentro de tu red como fuera si tienes buena subida a internet, 3TB de disco duro 3'5"/2'5" interno,
Con 4 tuner, puedes ver/grabar 4 tp's distintintos (segun antenas, distinta banda/polaridad).

Sin olvidar que los VU+ tienen problemas con SR inferiores a 2000.
En los ultimos satelites pescados, si utilizo la DB800S-HD para pescar y luego cargo esta lista en el Vu+DUO2, abre canales hasta SR1500, si espero 30 segundos bien SR1200, pero nada mas bajo, SR1100 nada de nada.
En el VU+DUO2 despues de realizar una busqueda ciega (solo tuner A), reinicia enigma2 para recuperar el modulo del sintonizador al quedar bloqueado, funcionando bien despues.

H.264 or just the almost redundant MPEG2 4:2:2?

H264 DVB-S2/8PSK MPEG-2/MPEG-4 Multistream ACM/VCM

With a possible upgrade to H265 & 4:2:2 hopefully but as mentioned in post #11 not much demand for this type of receiver,

TM can see the commercial aspects of Multi-Stream & are currently actively pursuing this atm,
What upgrades will follow after it is released is not known atm.
 
I think I will get a s/h Technomate TM-Twin for now and see how it goes. It will give me some idea if I like it.
