HD satellite and Terrestrial Receiver Clark-Tech HD 5000-C.

I live in Spain, in a village called La Fuente de San Esteban and to make it easer to you here are my location data
Longitude -6.255
Latitude 40.800
Country Spain

Now I have given you all the information that you will need to help me with my problem.

I installed the dish in a very good place, actually its all country side open fields so there are no obstacles. The level and quality on the reciever is more then 81% and the LNB is directed on Astra 1 19.3e, so everything indicates that all works well. The problem is that when I do a scan....NOTHING - ZERO - NO CHANNELS. I have tried everything even had the reciver on anther dish, but on mine it finds no channels. could you pls help me solve this problem for I am going crazy for as I live in a small village 1000 persosn, the dish is my only contact with the outside world. I will be very greatfull for some out there who could help....and I thank you for your time effort in helping me. Hoping to hear from somone out there who can help me. Thank you

You're probably pointing at the wrong satellite, hence a good quality signal but no programmes found as they don't coincide with what's in your receiver's memory. If you think you're near Astra 1 you could try scanning neighbouring satellites without moving the dish. If something appears you'll know which sat you've found.

Hi Hughes,
Thanks for your reply. Well I did that and still its not good. Could it be the scart?? or somthing in the settings.I dont knoiw, can you advice pls.
Thanks
Mike

Did you try scanning the hotbirds? If not that would be my guess as to what you're pointing at, in which case you'll need to move your dish a bit to the right (looking at it from the front) until you get the Astra signal.

Hi,
Well\ i did a scan on Astra 1 and I only got 3 free chanells, but it sat signal is bad..i am going crazy....i dont know what to do anymore.
Thanks

What were the 3 channels you got? This may help in identifying your problem.

Have moved this, as it is almost certainly an alignment problem, particularly as the receiver worked on another dish.

As Jimmy H has asked, what are the three channels you have found and on which frequencies?

PS. I have also changed the thread title to reflect the content of the thread.

I did a re scan on astra 1 and the 3 are gone plus nothing.......
level is 86%
quality is 74%

can ask you somthing .is it possible that were I live, my area cannot get any chanells, for 1 month ago I moved from a village wich is only 2km away and had more then 3000 channels..i think its really wierd.
waiting for a reply,
thanks

ok the channels are from astra 1 / 19.2E
TP 11.479(V)

canal evenement
girondins tv
nrj hits
telerealite
lcp
baby first
lcp

Only 1 works the last one lcp andits in french

At 6' West you'll need a bit of skew on your lnb, maybe someone who knows more than me could help with this, just experiment by moving it a bit at a time (perhaps about twenty five too) and see if it makes any difference.

Well that definitely is Astra 19.2, you need to check your LNB connection and skew, plus the connection into the receiver. If you've managed to see the receiver working on another dish, did it manage to scan all of the channels?

HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP.
for I am going to destroy my whole satallite and recivier and be done with. I have done everything and still I get nothing. Am I cursed here in Spain or what????
so if there is a good soul out there ( I know there is) pls help me.thanks and waiting for miracle.
Michael

It would seem you are running out of patience, if you can be patient then all the people helping you can be patient.

Let's start from the beginning, forget the level and quality of the receiver, it could be misleading you. Firstly why not post a picture taken from the side of your dish and the front, then we can possibly see what the problem is. It would appear your dish is a multi lnb offset it should appear similar to the one in the picture I have posted. If this is your first install I suggest it is too complicated to try to set up without satellite meter equipment. You need to get a cheap sat meter and starting with the central lnb and then get that working and then add an lnb and get that working etc

In the pdf file I have uploaded there is information which may help you including something on-line. Is the dish the same as the one in the pdf file?

Just to reiterate.

Well here are the pics you asked for. Yes that is the satallite I have. I also have meter to help me search for Satallites. But my problem is his,
A month ago I moved to this new house, and the dish was installed on the front of the house for 4 months.and i had no problems. The village is only 2 km away and lower then were I am now. Now I think I am in a better position then before ......so why the hell I cannot get even 1 channel let alone 3000. I thank you for your kind reply..and yes I am keeping cool, and hope to hear from you very very soon.
