W3C
Scheduled for launch in third quarter 2011 and equipped with 56 transponders, W3C will be based on the Spacebus 4000 platform of Thales Alenia Space. It will be located at 16 degrees East, where it will continue to support the development of digital TV in Central and Eastern Europe and French-speaking Indian Ocean Islands, as well as open new resources for data services in Africa.

Look out for the satellite shaped fireball :-lmao

Lets hope their insurance is up to date!:D

They will launch it with a chinese rocket this time (Long March 3B). Maybe to break the leg! :D

lets hope it goes well as reception on 16e is awful, thought I'd have a look at 16e after a long time and couldn't get a lot of the tps well the signal was awful. 90cm dish no longer good on this position unless you have 1.2m and over.

Yup. 16E was a bit of a favourite until it went bnag.

I've seen reports of a guy in central London getting 34% signal quality on one of Trings transponders on a 80cm dish, What bloody chance do you have up here!!

which of the tring transponders you talking about as I can get 11283v 27500 fine without any problem on cm 90cm dish, on my cm 1.2m 16e reception is improved

I cant remember buddy, the reception is poor on 15.8 thats one thing everybody can agree on!

I'm getting everything off 16e with a Penta 85 :D

The signals are noticibly lower that 13e or 19.2e but never the less they are watchable in most weathers.

Yes, I get better SNR on some Nilesat transponders than I get on 15.8°!!

The W3C footprints look very favourable for the UK. 3 European beams all of which have decent UK coverage.

Sesat 1 is frankly terrible here, W2M & EB16A are good signals.
