Have heard whispers that there will be a new CAM available shortly, specifically designed to use with Sky cards (not multicrypt), will not require pairing to the card and will allow keep alive signals. Watch this space, will update as soon as I hear more. :)

update March 2008: No news of this at all, whether it was a false whisper or not I may never find out, but I think we will have to assume that it was, for which I apologise.

This isn't an NDS CAM, this is an independent offering, but more than that I don't know.

If anyone else but you had posted this I would have poured scorn upon it.

Still, sounds good. Might just get the "alternative to $ly +" bandwagon rolling.

I only got the whisper today and cannot confirm how well this will work, my very first question was will it keep the card alive and i'm waiting for the answer. :)

Can you please give me just one good reason why NDS would want to make an independent CI cam?

If it's true, then it's very good news, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Let's just hope it isn't another Dreambox 8000.

As I've said iceman, it isn't an NDS CAM, it is an independent, it will not work out of the box, but will need flashing (probably how they will get around certain issues with NDS).

It will be different from anything else, in that it will only work with videoguard cards.

Looks like its for FREESAT,maybe the BBC will use a similar system to that used in Holland.
