Hi Everyone.
I hope I've posted this in the correct forum.

I would like some advice on sat receivers etc.

I am getting rid of Sky this month and am exploring freesat. My questions are:-

1) I have a sky HD box that will be redundant. Should I connect to the free chanels through it or get a dedicated receiver I have my eye on the Humax Foxsat?

2) I plan to use the sky dish for the new freesat service. Is that a good idea?

3) What cards would you recommend for receiving Premier league football and films?

I can't put up other dishes etc it is not my property.

Many thanks
John

Welcome to the forum.

1/ You can use the skyHD receiver but you won't make use of the second feed or enjoy record facility without paying a small fee. A Humax PVR will record freely.
2/ Yes the sky dish will be fine if currently working.
3/ Freesat is just that, freeview programming. Films and football packages are available via other satellites, take a browse through the forum.

you could get around 100quids off your HD box on fleabay, that will easily help towards a freesat HD box with hard disk and recording facility
advantage you'll have: if you decide to add a motor or wavefrontier type dish, you will be future proof (whereas with a skyhd box, you can only get sky satellite: 28E)
