Hi, I'm new to the forum and would like to update my old sat meter, I only install freesat and sky. with a budget of £400 which is the best and user friendly meter to buy?
 
Hi, I am new on this site too, I have set up sky and freesat on 28e using a £2 compass and a £6 analogue signal meter. i have a perfect picture and took me 3 mins to find the strongest signal so what would be the benefit of spending £400 on what can be done for less than a tenner? or free if you use the receivers signal meter and look at the position of dishes in the neighbourhood.
 
Thanks for the quick reply, you sound like a true yorkshire man (like me, don't like spending money) Ive installed two dishes last week with out any probs and have one to do on Monday. my old meter (of 20 years)works fine but I suppose, it would be good to set a dish up with out the receiver present. I saw a Max Pro for sale via my wholesalers around £200 inc.
The other thing is do you know of any good Sat wholesalers?

Based on your budget the Emitor Satlook MicroG2 with NIT might do well or the Emitor Digisat Multi. These meters will give you accurate digital measurements ie. MER, BER etc, where an analogue signal meter won't.

For a smaller budget you could also consider the Digisat PRO, although lacking measurements. _http://www.emitor.se/

What Satelliteman said -> spectrum, S/N, BER, USALS and NIT -> around 290 GBP
Satlook Micro HD -> future proof -> demodulates DVB-S2 transponders -> spectrum, S/N, BER, USALS and NIT -> around 440 GBP

To get any big advantage over these you would need a big step up in budget.
