New MRV shows UCAS 3.1+ in the receiver - is this normal?

Hi,

A friend of mine has just purchased a new MRV cam, and when he inserts it into his reciever its shows UCAS 3.1+ for the slot that it is inserted. Is this normal? I thought it would have to shown something like MRV 2.xx. Does it mean its in 'virgin' state with no MRV firmware on it?

And in this state can i update it to MRV 2.23 using PCMCIA interface or funcards or do i need CAS2?

yest it is VIRGIN

and yes you can update it to MRV 2.23 using PCMCIA interface or funcards
