This works for 11496H, managed to scan them in on my Octagon SF4008, but 11491V is still using COMBO 2388, just checked now with TBS5925. I've noticed 11496H works using either GOLD or COMBO 25613.

Yes, I already posted that, however only for Asturias mux on 11496H, CLM mux on 11491H has exclusive Combo meaning that Silabs tuners (SF4008) cannot demodulate that! Only TBS/STV09x chipsets.

tbs6983(stv09x) lock 11496 H with codes pls:root-185747,gold & combo-25613,
tbs6590(Si21832) lock 11496 H with codes pls:root-185747,gold-25613.

Thanks for the info, I suppose tbs6590 cannot lock the Combo mode of 11491V, right?

tbs6590 doesn't lock 11496 H with code pls combo even by hardlock.

I thought so, it's the demodulator of Silabs, they don't support Combo although they should, since TBS is using their tuners they should push them to support it, otherwise it's bad for a professional card of that kind.

It is too much to think that the card model based on the Silab chip,at least those that have appeared so far, is considered professional. In fact, they have not been presented as such by the producer. Each has its own purpose and is addressed to certain buyers.Only the cards presented by the manufacturer as professional can be considered as such. Those of Silab was not thought so even if it can do many things.

Hello,

Has anyone with an SF4008 tried to watch the contents of 11496 H (Asturias) ?
I did succeed in scanning and storing the channels, but they are hardly watchable... picture breaks up every 2 -3 seconds, SNR as shown by receiver oscillates between 0 and 16 dB. Tried two completely different setups, 60cm + black ultra and 2,40m + MTI LNB with same results on both.
I'm running updated OpenATV 6.0.

Any clues? The issue seems related to the TS decoding. Tried via webif with same results.

No lock on 11491 V with any combination so far...

You are not alone with that problem. All that use that receiver has exactly the same problem atm. No solution yet...

Am I right in thinking the 4008 will allow you to watch the multistream channels on 5 west and other satellites?

Yes same here, SF4008 scans channels in fine but get picture break-up even though signal is around 12dB. No luck with COMBO on 11491V, apparently the tuner is unable to handle COMBO, even though it's a selectable option in the PLS menu!

Yes, the SF4008 lets you watch all multistream channels.

The selectable option is indifferent to the STB manufacturer, the E2 patch was done outside SF4008 for all multistream-enabled tuners and that covers the ones who actually support it (like TBS5925), and it would cover Silabs too but they don't support Combo and never will unless they make new tuners that do. The new STB manufacturers are simply lucky they found the E2 patches ready to work, nobody from their side did anything to contribute to the multistream support in E2, that was ready before they made STBs with MIS enabled tuners.

So do you need to do any updates / add a patch when you have bought the receiver?

Nope, openATV 6/OpenPLI 6 already include the Multistream patches. In fact every latest E2 image will handle MIS with no problem.

Has anyone figured out what is the reason behind the pixelization of Asturias MUX on SF4008 ? Is it an RF issue (stability or whatever..) or a problem of the PLS decoding or similar?

See post 12 - its a tuner problem.

Maybe some misunderstanding here...
I'm not talking about the COMBO issue.

I'm talking about - after it was discovered the PLS root and gold equivalent for COMBO, - the fact that SF4008 tunes and displays just fine the 11491 V (Castilla La Mancha) using either root/gold, but not the 11496 H using also root or gold. It scans, but displays with brake up / pixelization.

Post #12 talks about the known limitation of not tuning COMBO PLS, i'm not talking about that. I'm asking why gold or root PLS has pixelization in 11496 H but not on 11491V. This last shows perfectly.
