I am not a dreamer but I do know that the local addresses handed out by the router DHCP server should all be in the range of 192.168.X.Y on netmask as you have quoted. These are local addresses so on the same lan have to be the same 192.168.X.Y where X is the same number in all cases between 1 and 255 and Y are sequential numbers beginning with 1 and ending with 255.
Your Gateway will hand out the numbers to the other equipment on the network but you can assign them if they are in the correct range that detail will be in your router setup. What you have will never work as they will think they are on different networks

The IP addresses look OK

IP: 192.168.1.6 DHCP(unticked)
NETMASK 255.255.255.O
TYPE LAN
NAMESERVER 192.1**.1.1
GATEWAY 192.1**.1.1

provided the 1** is 168. These are LAN IP address so need to ** anything out.

Splifi: can you ping the Dreambox from your computer?

And you changed the nameserver IP address to your ISP's DNS server IP?

and
NETMASK 255.255.255.O
: the 0 is a zero and not an "O" as you've written?

Had not spotted that one mhku, and yes the advice I have given is based upon the fact that the o/p has typed ** thus is not using 168 but of course it should be.

Type out what you do to ping it then splifi

So I see you are doing things correctly, I am intrigued by the flashing light on the router, blinking indicates traffic you haven't accidently activated something and created a server out of the DB have you?

You are using STD Cat 5 cables and not crossover ones?

You get a "reply from 192.168.1.6..." ?

If you get a reply from the Dreambox when you ping then the CAT5 cable is OK.
Is your nameserver still 192.168.1.1 or did you try a DNS server IP address?

Can you install any addons from the Dreambox?

Blue panel > addons > download & install > cam > cccam 2.0.4

for example?

I thought you have to have a cross over cable from Dreambox to router???

This does seem very odd and I can understand your frustration:confused

You presumably have tried a different Cat5 port on your router (I am assuming it is a 4 port)

What O/S is your pc by the way

OK. Just in case your router is blocking the IP address, unplug your PC from the router and change the Dreambox IP address to the same as your PC.

Can you confirm when you ping the Dreambox IP address you get a reply:

I can ping the host OK (
Code:
ping http://download.blue-panel.com
)

Can you browse your Dreambox from your PC? Open up a browser and enter http://192.168.1.6 into the address bar?

If that fails, telnet into the Dreambox and check the web service is running.

start > run > telnet 192.168.1.6

enter login details

type ps -ef at the prompt

Look for something like /var/bin/inetd
