I'm looking to buy a new receiver, its for pure hobby use. I like the idea of hooking it up to the pc and am pretty tech savy and used to ftping etc.
Single tuner would suffice - but with recording to hard drive facility.
The main use would be really for feed hunting,
To put you in the picture I'm bringing myself up to date, It will be used with an Irte 1.5m Solid prime focus, on polar mount with a super jack that has given sterling service since I installed it 20 years ago. Then I was used with a Palcom 4000 if anyone remembers those!
Other interests came along and it sat on 28 east for years, then three years ago I decided to try it with Humax foxsat HDR, so now use that with a Technomate V-Box2 to convert the diseqc to the 36V jack.
At the same time I updated the LNB to an iverto .3db Twin output C120 Universal LNB. I hoping the outdoor side of things is good enough.
This has worked OK, but as you will appreciate it's clumsy to use the Humax in Multisat mode.
Budget is not endless, up to £400, but will save up and get pay more if you think its worth it.
