Afternoon all

Newbie here looking at installing my own system at home with either a 80cm mesh dish or a penta 68.

We tend to get quite high winds due to living on a bit of a hill so have a few concerns on dish placement and also the reason for considering a mesh dish. The wind tends to blow down the side of the side of the house.

Just wondering if some of you experts could have a look at the picture below and advise. The back wall is virtually square on to 28.2E. and there are no line of sight problems until about 5.0W where the nieghbours house may obstruct as they are about 1.5 meters higher than ours.
Thanks

Welcome,

Assume your referring to a motorised system. Can you upload a picture of the rear view by any chance.

Hi m8

Assuming we are seeing a picture of the front of your house and assuming you want a motorised system..then mounting on the wall to the rear of the property will give very restricted access to the western half of the satellite arc ..
You would get some improvement in western visibility if you lift the dish above gutter height ..but this exposes the dish in high wind conditions ..
If you have garden to the rear ...you night consider pole mounting at the bottom of your garden ?

Apologies, I didn't explain very well.

Yes it is a motorised system I was looking at, and the attached picture is a view of the rear of the house from the garden.
The garden isn't a great size so i think a floor/garden mounted dish is out.

You say the 'back wall is virtually square on to 28E'. It's always a little easier with photos showing a sky dish to compare but I guess either a garden fixing or T&K wall mounting to raise the dish above gutter height.
