Hey there.

I'm new to the site and this is my first post...so hello all

Okay, so I've just recently found out about 'Dreambox' and my current Sky sub is about to run out. I've been on a 'half-price for 12-months' deal so it's not been too bad. I have no access to cable to Sky is my only option.

I suppose I just need some general advice initially:

1. Once I have a Dreambox, do I cancel my Sky sub?

2. Will I be able to get all the Sky channels with a Dreambox (Movies, Sport etc) and all the HD channels when using card-sharing?

3. Will I need to use my Sky card in the Dreambox?

4. Does the Dreambox retain all of the features of the Sky HD box i.e. Anytime+, Live Pause, rewind Live TV, recording etc?

5. Where is the best place to source a Dreambox and the accompanying card-sharing sub?

I apologise if these are obvious questions with obvious answers. I'm pretty tech-savvy but always feel it best to show complete ignorance and lack of knowledge when researching new tech.

I appreciate any advice you can give me and thank you in advance

If you had read the rules you just agreed to you would know that we do not discuss paid servers on this forum, there is a lot of information for you to read if you do intend defrauding (or attempting to) sky TV but we will not discuss it here thread closed

Your best bet to have your Sky services is to continue your subscription.

Commercial card shares rarely work particularly well - the boxes are often connected to grossly overloaded cards leading to interruptions in your viewing when the keys change - which can be every few minutes.

Of course once the operators have your money they aint particularly bothered if you have viewing problems.

There is also the problem that you have no idea at all who is operating them - it could be the Russian mafia going after easy income, or even Sky operating a sting operation.

These operators frequently get busted - and when they do you can bet your bottom dollar the law enforcement people will go for the server logs to see who has been connecting - and anyone looking for sympathy if THAT happens and they get a visit from HM Police wont get any from us.
