80cm Dish, Technomate 2600, dual lnb runnig to a 6981 on pc. Sky Raven Zone 2 with Zinwell Octo Lnb running to a Pvr5 with 1.5TB HD, 3 x Pvr5, F140, Vision 010-040 with 4 way vision masthead amp

Hi, I'm new to the motorised dish setup world and would really appreciate some help please!
I have bought and installed an 80cm dish with a technomate 2600 motor running to a tbs6981 pcie pc card with a phoenix smartcard reader. My aim for this setup was to record and edit some programs that I pay for with my Sky subscription. However, here is the trouble, i'm sure the dish is setup right because I can recieve all the fta channels on any of the satellites I point it too, but I cannot, for the love of all that is holy, get any of the channels that I pay for to work with the card reader. I am a novice but if someone could please help I would be very grateful :-)
 
Which emu are you using. Don't know much about Computer Sat cards in all honesty, but it will need some sort of emu (Softcam) to read the card.

Something like CCCam, NewCS or OSCam.

Pleas refrain from posting the same question twice as they won't get answered any quicker.

Hi, thanks for the reply! I didnt mean to post it twice, I didn't think it had worked and I had put it as a quote in my visitor's page as well, sorry and D'oh!
Thanks for the advice as well, I got a bit flustered when looking around the net and thought about making an algorithm to go with dvb dream. I havent installed any softcam software yet, but I will do this now and report back :-)

I use my Dreambox like a CAM and DVBViewer with Hadu plugin.
 
Try Newcs (ver. 1.65) for your Phoenix and ACamd to read your Sky card.
 
Thanks very much for the info guys, I'm nearly there... LOl, Ive got newcs and I think that it is working ok, Ive altered the com port to 7 which is where my pc thinks the usb serial port is. I've installed the hadu and acamd plugins but i cannot get dvbdream to activate the appropiate port and decode my skycard.

Ok, so what I have done is, installed and got newcs working - it recognises my viewing card. I've installed the pro version of progdvb and installed the hadu plugins in pip00 but when the progdvb activated it says no plugins are present?
Any help greatly appreciated :)

Haven't tried hadu (yet), but shouldn't the hadu files be in the plugins directory of ProgDVB rather than the pip subdirectories?
 
mattmanic, if you're still having trouble with your present setup, I suggest using OSCAM with ACamD - it's working perfectly well with my Sky card. I only have one premium sub (Racing UK), which obstinately refused to open with any of the other emus I tried.

I will be posting details later on how I set it up on Windows to work with my Hauppauge pci tuner.
